GVLAX Season Overview 2010

Grand Valley lacrosse has been working very hard to ensure a successful 2010 season. We are committed to having a lacrosse program in the valley available to any and all that want to play. There are 2 parts to the GVLAX club, the high school division and the club division.
On the high school front we have worked to expand lacrosse in the Grand Valley by increasing the numbers of teams that will play at the high school level. In order to do that GLAX will pay school district #51,  $70,000.00 (seventy thousand dollars!!!) . This money is being raised through fees and fundraisers. The high school program belongs to the school district and our largest area of support is the financial part. The fee to play at the high school level is a total of $200.00. $130.00 to GVLAX and the $70.00 school district fee. You also must fill out the district paperwork for a spring sport. The coaches and the program itself will be run like any other high school sport.
The club program will be run similar to the past years. We will have boys teams from 2-8 grade and  girl’s team 4/5 &  6-8 grade   grade girls to come . All club play will start after Spring Break sometime. Most of the teams that play club lacrosse are mountain towns and their season is about 3-4 weeks behind us due to weather. We will be having a tournament of our own here and will be going to 2-3 other tournaments. We will be scheduling “friendlies” between teams in our league to play in a less formal setting than a tournament so the kids can have more playing time. All the club team players are responsible for their travel costs and equipment. The fee to play club will be $200.00
We hope your family and player have a great 2010 season. Please continue to support the Grand Valley Lacrosse Club by participating in our fundraisers and supporting our players, coaches and teams. For comments, questions or concerns use the feedback tab on the left side of this home page. Thank you for supporting Grand Valley Lacrosse.
